In the circuit design of 10G combo PON OLT optical modules, the power supply voltage to the CDR is 1.8V, which requires the use of a BUCK-DCDC to reduce the voltage from 3.3V to 1.8V, and the output current needs to be greater than 1A. SGMICRO recently launched a buck DCDC SGM61020 with an output current up to 1.2A and a size of only 2x2mm. It has the advantages of high output current, small size, and high efficiency, making it ideal for applications in 10G combo PON OLT optical modules.

SGM61012 focuses on high-efficiency buck conversion in a large output current range. Under medium to heavy load conditions, the converter operates in PWM mode, and automatically enters power-saving mode operation under light load currents to maintain high efficiency throughout the entire load current range.
